“ Was glad to know that there a Mother's Fish in the area. I use to patronize the one on Olive and the one in E. St. Louis IL but i believe both have closed down. Mother's Fish on Grand has excellent food. The place could be a little more cleaner and asethically more pleasing. Parking can be a bit challenging. The prices are pretty reasonable and the amount of food is reasonable too. I generally get the 2pc fish special and 10pc shrimp. Sometimes I may get the buffalo jack combo. I like the fact that the food is made to order and it's always ready at the time given. Since Covid I'm glad I can call my order in and pick it up and they don't allow more than 4 people at a time and require that you wear a mask or they won't serve you. Overall I'm happy with Mother's Fish on Grand. Hopefully they will invest in fixing up the place to make it more asethically pleasing like new floor patch up holes etc. But generally the restaurants that people call a hole in the wall have good food ”
“ Mother's fish is GREAT!!!!!! But I only gave them four stars because the young lady that takes orders is so unprofessional and hood and her customer service skills SUCK!!! We hand her our credit card and she looks at us with messed up expression and says "Naw our credit card machine is down" not I'm sorry the machine is down we get the sharheisha ghetto "NAW" ... Now the gentleman that's there has great customer service skills, the young woman acts like she doesn't want to be there and acts like you are bothering her when you place your order and my order wasn't right. You all run out of product alot and you all have been in business too long not be able to keep up with your supply & demand. I do appreciate the fact that the food is cooked to order, the area is super unsafe but that's out of you all's control. Anyway, keep the guy, get rid of the girl...PLEASE FIX YOUR CREDIT CARD MACHINE!!!! 1 more thing......maybe its a good time to update you all's equipment as well. From the look of the ceiling, the walls and the refrigerator you might be in violation of a few codes. Anyway, continue to make that wonderfully delicious food Saint Lou-Lou (St. Louis) has known and loved for so many years. ”
“ I know I know ...usually, this is the place to go for fish but I wanted a tripe sandwich and that's what I got for $6 and some change (I was one day late for Tripe Thursdays $5) 4/5 Fries came standard. Both the tripe and fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Crispy Crispy tripe is where it's at and this spot has it. Orders are cooked to order so be prepared to wait or you can call ahead. ”

“ I hadn't eaten Mother's fish for over 8 years and I have to say: 1. THEY ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS! 2. Each order is cooked to serve (If you were frying fish at home it would take a while so why shouldn't it take a while here) 3. The fish was so delicious and tender and seasoned JUST right that even after eating as much as I could (they provide very generous servings). I went back and ate the rest later without even warming it up. 3. Did I mention GENEROUS servings? 4.The staff is friendly and enduring. I wanted a combination of items that didn't appear on the menu, and the counter guy graciously said he'd create whatever combo I desired- and he did just that. 5. The sides were yummy (we picked for our meals spaghetti, potato salad, hush puppies, mac and cheese and fries- three different orders. All sides were reminiscent of my grandmother's flair for cooking. I]My family was please and we WILL return soon! ”
